Long-Term Recovery Program

LIFE FOUNDATIONS RESTORATION PROGRAM

The Life Foundations Restoration Program is a goal driven, long-term, residential discipleship and recovery program that offers a basic curriculum to each man seeking recovery from life-destroying addictions. This Christian grace based program places a heavy emphasis on building healthy and supportive relationships.while teaching the men to live wise, moral, responsible, and lawful lives. The program is a fifty-bed residential, eighteen-month to two-year program, providing all basic needs of the student, such as housing, meals, clothing, toiletries, over-the-counter medications and transportation to appointments, activities and events.

The Gospel Rescue Mission of Tucson administers this program as a faith-based, spiritually oriented discipleship program. The heart of this program focuses on right relationships with God and man, and the Bible is our primary study book. Our staff members, from counselors to cooks, role model and teach the relational skills that change a man from being a "loner" to being an honorable citizen involved in the civic and social life of the community.

The goal of this program is to equip and prepare a man to care for himself and his family in a wise, moral, responsible and lawful lifestyle. There are no fees. Each man will complete the Occupational -Therapy course to equip himself to earn a living wage, or to offer valuable service as a volunteer in a local non-profit organization. The Career Development course is designed to assess each student's work experience, skills and natural abilities; and match him to the kind of career that suits his abilities and interests, and that will provide a living wage. The program is administered in seven Phases, and until Phase V, when he is receiving wages, he will be given an allowance.

Candidates are accepted on the basis of bed-availability, need and willingness to commit to the hard work of recovery, without regard to age, education, ethnicity or religion, with the single exception being that we cannot take Level II or III sex offenders. The facility is wheel chair accessible. Only two requirements affect men with illness, injury or disability: they must be able to take care of their own basic daily needs (dress, shower, get around), and their medications must not reduce their mental alertness.

Students will have met the class requirements for the following studies and have a "Certificate of Completion" for the course, or have the instructor's "Letter of Exemption" for the course, in order to receive the Mission's "Certificate of Graduation." Without nine Certificates, or a combination of nine Certificates and Letters, a "Certificate of Graduation" will not be granted. Final evaluation of readiness to graduate will be made on the basis of each student's individual "Life Plan.
