Currently the Gospel Rescue Mission has 9 different categories to serve as a volunteer. - View Volunteer Categories
If you are interested in a long-term commitment to the Mission, to become a long-term (High-Impact) Volunteer, which means at least a monthly commitment, the following Road map will be what you need to follow:

1) P.R. & Recurit
Contact is made by a potential volunteer partner in person, phone, web or mail to the Mission Volunteer Director. All partners are required to complete a tour, application packet and an interview to become a volunteer partner.
2) Orientation & Tour
Orientation is included during the first 30 minutes of the Mission Tour. This orientation includes the following subjects:
-
- Characteristics of the Homeless
- Enabling
- Triggers and Co-Dependency
- Matthew 18 to Resolve Conflicts & Triangulation
4) Application Process
The Volunteer Partner Application Packet must be completed and returned to the T.E.A.M. Volunteer Directors office. After the application has been processed, the information is then forwarded to the site location of interest.
5) Interview & Selection Process
Each volunteer partner is then scheduled for an interview by the on-site Volunteer Coordinator. Opportunities will be shared during this time. Job descriptions will be available so potential volunteer partners can pray about a place to serve.
6) Placement
A time will be set aside for the Volunteer Partner to visit departments and staff with the on-site Volunteer Coordinator where placement will be made, remembering that there is mobility within the Mission if other volunteer and department needs are identified. At this time, if the Volunteer Partner decides to join the GRM Mission Team, there will be a few forms to sign.
7) Training & Equipping
GRM Staff or others who are knowledgeable will train partners to perform the job that has been assigned and chosen. Staff will monitor and adjust schedule and duties to assist partner to be successful. Partners will be scheduled to serve at their convenience working out a schedule. Partners will sign in at locations of service.
8) Serving & Following Up
The Volunteer partner will be contacted by the on-site Volunteer Coordinator after serving four weeks of service to see how things are going. The Staff supervisor will connect with the partner weekly for the first four weeks of service to see how things are going. Thereafter, the Staff supervisor and on-site Volunteer Coordinator will monitor the partners progress and service. Quarterly follow-up contact will be made with the volunteer partner and staff supervisor.
9) Develop
The Volunteer Partner is equipped to grow and mature in their ministry postion to support staff and Mission guests. As the VP progresses in their role, they are encouraged to take on more ownership as appropriate.
