We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has prayed for us, liked and shared our social media posts to help raise funds and awareness, who have come out and provided news coverage, and who have donated time, materials, and finances to help us through this difficult time. We know that even now, God is using this for good. He is our provider and our healer. Our trust is in Him. Thank you again for your support and prayers. God bless you.

What a blessing! Gospel Rescue Mission can now receive donations of household goods, furnishings, appliances, pots, pans, dishes, beds, and more! (We especially need towels for our shelter guests) The warehouse space is currently being used as a distribution center for donations. When you bring in donations to either shelter location (707 W. Miracle Mile 85705 or 312 W. 28th Street 85713 both open 24/7), our Donation Center Team will pick up the items from the drop-off areas at the shelters, move them to the warehouse, sort, and then deliver the items to Tucson-area residents in need. The recipients of donated items are men and women who have graduated from our shelter programs and moved into their own apartments or families and individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and have come to our Family Services Office for help. If you would like to schedule a donation pick-up, please call us at 520-740-1501 x7020. We do not have an official word on what will happen next with this space, but we do have confirmation that we are now able to use a warehouse as a temporary storage area of large items like beds, sofas, appliances, etc. while these items wait to be distributed to Tucson's working poor and near-homeless neighbors through our Family Services ministry. The Tucson Mobile Mini generously donated three months use, set-up, and transportation of two large metal storage containers. Last week the containers were brought over to help Gospel Rescue Mission with temporary storage space of donations since the area and building that were being used for this purpose were burned in an arson fire earlier this month.
During the day, the Gospel Rescue Mission Family Services Ministry gives donated items out to Tucson families and individuals in need. At night they use these containers to safely and securely store the items near their temporarily relocated offices at the Community Ministries and Volunteer office at 326 W. 28th Street, Tucson, AZ 85713 Cleanup began Friday, June 17, 2016. Though many members of the Tucson-area community offered their help to clean up after the fire, we had to decline because of hazardous fumes, broken glass, and other dangers in the areas damaged by the fire. A professional cleanup company, Integrity Contents Services, is working in connection with our insurance providers to clean up what can be saved and pack away and haul off everything that can't.
God is so good!
Many people in the community and surrounding areas have been praying for us and standing in agreement with us about provision of a temporary storage solution and that prayer was answered! An anonymous donor has offered a warehouse space free of charge for the next three months to help us until we can get our services to Tucson's working poor up, running, and fully functional again. We will be able to begin accepting donations of furniture, appliances, and large items again as early as next week! More details coming soon! On Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at about 3am, there was a fire at Gospel Rescue Mission’s Donation Center and Family Services Office. The fire started in the yard and spread to the office building where we help working poor families with emergency food boxes, clothing, furniture, and other household items. No one was hurt. The building was unoccupied. Authorities have determined that arson was the cause of the fire. A suspect is in custody.
