It almost seemed too good to be true. But here we were, ready to pull out chairs . . . seat them at the banquet table . . . and serve them a delicious Thanksgiving meal . . . sharing the love of Jesus Christ in a wonderful “real-life” way.
After they had their fill, they were connected with programs and services we offer designed to get families like theirs “back on their feet.” Today, the parents and the kids are all doing great. The Alstons never miss our Thanksgiving Street Banquet – but now they are giving back as some of our most dedicated volunteers!
There are many others this year like the Alston family were that year . . . going through difficult times, needing a hand to the other side. For all of these folks, our Street Banquet will be more, much more, than just a hot meal. It will be an opportunity to connect with our services and programs, all designed to help them get their lives back on track.
This means every $2.05 you give today will provide another meal for a hungry child, a weary mom, a worried dad. . .
How many meals could you provide? How many lives could we touch together?
For many families, Thanksgiving won’t be a day of feasting and celebration. It will be a day — another day — of struggle. Of hunger. Of making the awful choices: whether to pay the rent, or the utilities, or buy clothes for the kids — or put food on the table.
But Tucson’s children and families don’t have to go hungry this Thanksgiving . . .
There's something you can do! By giving a generous “Thanksgiving gift” today — you will help change the lives of an entire family — just like the Alstons.
