Heart of Worship

Sometimes we can become confused about what worship really is.

We might say, “That was an amazing worship service,” or, “That church—or those people—really know how to worship.”

But worship is not found in the song. Worship is not defined by a posture. It isn’t measured by how loud or how quiet you are.

Worship is the connection of your heart to God’s heart.

A heart of worship is fully devoted to God, seeking Him above all else. It is sensitive to His voice and desires to please Him more than anything else.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV)

Worship is about placing God first in our lives and making Him the center of everything we do.

Psalm 99:5 says:

“Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; He is holy.”

Today, take a moment to search your heart. Turn your heart toward Him, and worship.
