At Gospel Rescue Mission, we believe coffee is more than a drink—it’s an opportunity. That’s why our partnership with Blessed Grounds Coffee Roasters is such a gift. Their passion for quality coffee and heart for ministry align perfectly with our mission to change lives through meaningful training and purposeful work.
Together, we are equipping interns in our Opportunity Coffee & Cafe and Mobile Cafe programs with more than barista skills. We’re giving them insight into the world of specialty coffee—from sourcing and roasting to flavor notes and customer education—preparing them to become exceptional employees and ambassadors for Christ wherever they go.
Working with GRM interns has been one of the most rewarding parts of our business. Watching them grow—not just in coffee skills, but in confidence and purpose—reminds me why we started Blessed Grounds in the first place.
Mentoring these interns is about more than teaching flavor notes or roasting profiles. It’s about showing them that excellence, discipline, and heart go hand-in-hand—skills that serve them in coffee and in life.

For Jerald, a former GRM guest, this partnership has been life-changing. After going through our recovery and workforce development programs, he was mentored by Blessed Grounds and is now employed there as an Assistant Manager.
He reflects, “When I first came to GRM, I didn’t think a future like this was possible. The training, support, and encouragement I received gave me a second chance. Now I get to live it out every day at Blessed Grounds—and help others the way I was helped.”
