Meeting People Where They Are

019-3EIKHd31p54
I never get tired of reading these notes from our guests. I read them slowly, thinking about the person who wrote them—where they came from, what it took for them to walk through our doors, and how much courage they have already shown in starting over.

Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in – Galatians 6:9

So many arrive here carrying shame, loss, and exhaustion. They are tired of trying and failing, tired of letting people down—tired of letting themselves down.

I was excited eager to share a few of these with you because they are a daily reminder to me that the work we’re doing is meaningful. We’re not creating bandaid fixes. The work we’re doing together is rescuing lives and transforming them completely—from the inside out.

When the days feel long, and the work seems heavy, these serve as a reminder that God is faithful to complete this work He started over 70 years ago. And He sees our guests as

redeemable, and worthy of love, grace, dignity, and respect. That’s why we continue—because He has called us to love… especially those who have lost hope.

I can’t express how grateful I am for you. Your generosity is deeply felt here. It shows up in ways you may never fully see, but it is present in every step forward our guests take. You are part of their story, even if you never meet them.

Thank you for loving people well, believing that lives can change, and for walking alongside us as we continue to rescue those in need.

Thanking God for You,

Lisa Chastain
