God Is Doing a New Thing

Maybe you’ve never had a good job, and you find yourself saying, “I’ll never amount to anything,” or “No one wants to hire me.” Maybe you’ve experienced difficulties in your family, and right now, some relationships are broken or people aren’t speaking to you. Maybe you’ve made mistakes in your past and you’ve convinced yourself that those mistakes define your future.

But God is a God of restoration. He wants to do new things in your life—things that will bring Him glory.

Isaiah 43:18–19 says:

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

The Lord makes a way when there seems to be no way.

Don’t put God in a box because of your past. Don’t assume that because something has always been a certain way, it will always be that way. God is not limited by your history, your circumstances, your failures, or what you can see right now. When we seek Him and trust Him, we begin to realize that we cannot limit God. He can make a road in the wilderness. He can bring rivers into the desert.

He can restore what seems broken and He can do a new thing in your life.
