I Have a New Identity

Because Jesus has redeemed me—bought me back from the power of sin and death—I am no longer who I used to be.

What shaped me before no longer determines who I am.

I am no longer identified by my past, by the world, or even by my own thoughts. Who I am is now determined by who God says I am.

The mirror I look into is the Bible.

I AM A NEW CREATION

The old life of shame and defeat no longer defines me.

Galatians 2:20 — “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Jesus gave Himself for me so that I could walk in freedom and new life.

His love for me is greater than I can comprehend.

He has changed me and made me brand new.

I BEAR GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

My mind and heart are aligned with a fresh identity rooted in truth rather than fear.

1 Peter 2:9 — “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

I am called by a new name. He has chosen me. I am a royal priest. I am special to Him.

No matter what anyone else may call me or think of me, I know that I am redeemed and righteous before Him.

Because of who Jesus has made me to be, I will praise Him. I will proclaim His glory everywhere I go.

My identity is in Christ, and I will speak it with my mouth.
