Treasure Hunt

Wouldn’t it be great to find a treasure map?
Wouldn’t it be great to go on an adventure to find the treasure located where the X marks the spot?
God tells us that He has treasure for us. He tells us to seek it above everything else. He tells us in Proverbs 2:1 that we are to treasure His Word. His Word is wisdom, and it is precious treasure.

Proverbs 2:1–5

1 My son, if you receive my words and treasure my commands within you,

2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding;

3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment and lift up your voice for understanding,

4 If you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures;

5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

Every time you open your Bible, you are going on a treasure hunt.

Dig into the Word and unearth the precious gold and silver. Seek the wisdom that the Lord has to offer as if you were looking for precious jewels.

Can you imagine going on a treasure hunt, digging holes all over the field, but missing the spot marked with the X?

So many times, when we read our Bible and do our devotionals, we read all around the truth that He has for us that day and miss it.

We need to approach the Word as if it were life itself. We need to look for the diamond in the rough. We need to ask the Lord to reveal the gold nugget He has for us today.

When we find that jewel that speaks to our heart, we need to polish it by applying it to our lives and following through with what He is asking us to do.

God’s Word is indeed a treasure, and when we seek Him, we will find the X that marks the spot.
