Why do I worry?
Am I going to have enough money? The flu is going around—am I going to get sick? Will my children do well in school? And on and on it goes.
Worry means mulling things over in your mind, contemplating what might happen, and trying to come up with answers to questions that may or may not ever happen.
When you consume yourself with worry, there is no peace.
When we find ourselves worrying and consumed with all the “what ifs,” we need to pause and remember that God cares about every area of our lives.
1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
Jesus said in John 14:27:
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
So, if we don’t have peace, perhaps we need to search our hearts and remember that Jesus has given us His peace. Our hearts belong to Him.
Let Him calm your heart.
Let Him take your cares.
Let Him replace your worry with His peace.
We don’t have to carry tomorrow’s worries today. God is already there.
Today, give Him your “what ifs,” your fears, and your concerns, and trust Him with them.
He cares for you. He loves you. And He will give you His peace.
