Every journey begins with a first step—and for these talented guests, that first step led them into the kitchen. 
At Gospel Rescue Mission, we believe that learning a new skill can open the door to new opportunities, greater confidence, and a brighter future. Through our Culinary Arts Program, guests have been working, learning, and growing together as they develop their skills in the kitchen.
Now, their journey has reached an exciting milestone! 🎉
After progressing from preparing meals in the kitchen, these future chefs have entered the final stage of their training: pastry making! 🥐
But there is still one meaningful challenge ahead—their Capstone Project. Each student will plan, prepare, and cook a complete meal for their loved ones, giving them the opportunity to showcase everything they’ve learned and celebrate just how far they’ve come.
And for our guests, the program has been about more than learning how to cook:
“Culinary is fun. You get to make fine cuisines. It feels good. I love making food, but it’s more so the group I got more than anything. They’re good people.”

Upon completing their capstone, these guests will graduate with certificates recognizing the hard work, dedication, and determination they’ve shown every step of the way.
