Meeting People Where They Are
A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

Finding something to eat, a place to sleep, and simply surviving each day consumes so much mental and emotional energy that thoughts about the future slowly begin to disappear.
When they first arrive at GRM, we start by addressing their immediate needs, but as they begin to stabilize, guests ask questions they haven’t asked in years (or maybe ever).
What am I good at?
What is my purpose?
What kind of life do I want when I leave GRM?
We see that happen inside the Opportunity Coffee & Cafe.
Our interns often begin their first day unsure of what is ahead. Though they’ve spent weeks preparing, this is the moment they take all that information they learned in a classroom and apply it to the real world.
But week after week, you see their confidence blossom as they discover they can learn new skills, lead a team, solve problems, serve customers, and create something they’re proud of.
You can almost see it in their eyes as they realize they are capable of so much more than they ever imagined. They begin to rediscover the person God created them to be before they fell into addiction, homelessness, or trauma.
Watching these transformations has been a miraculous sight this past year.
Thank you for helping make it possible.
Because of your generosity, Opportunity Coffee & Cafe has become so much more than a place to enjoy good food and coffee. It’s become a place where guests can grow in confidence, discover purpose, and prepare for a future filled with hope. This is where they become whole again.
We’re excited to see how God continues to use Workforce Development and Social Enterprise to transform lives. Thank you for believing in this work, praying with us, and giving generously.
Thanking God for You,

Lisa Chastain
Chief Executive Officer
