Meeting People Where They Are

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

019-3EIKHd31p54
Every summer, as I drive around town, I can’t help but think about the people in Tucson who have nowhere to escape the heat.

Can you imagine being outside all day with no air conditioning, no shade, no safe place to rest? Or asking for something as simple as a drink of water — only to have people pass by without even making eye contact?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that story.

Throughout the summer months in Tucson, shelters across the city open additional beds and cooling stations to help prevent injury or death. While those services are absolutely necessary, they rarely address the deeper reasons someone ended up homeless in the first place. A person may escape the heat for a few hours, but tomorrow they’re often right back where they started.

That is why Operation Rescue matters so deeply. Every day—but especially during the most dangerous months of the year—we’re able to offer far more than a bed, a meal, a shower, or a safe place to cool off. We’re able to build relationships, restore dignity, and provide a pathway toward recovery and lasting transformation.

None of this happens without faithful supporters like you. Because of your generosity, we can provide help to those in need every day of the year, exactly when they need it most.

If you have not become a part of RESCUE365, please consider giving monthly. Summer months are especially difficult for us as needs rise, but giving slows considerably. The need this year is greater than we have ever seen before.

Your support ensures that when someone is finally ready to take that first step toward lasting transformation, we are there waiting with open arms.

Thanking God for You,

Lisa Chastain
