Operation Rescue

Operation Rescue was launched last June in order to reach people right where they are at—to be able to walk through our doors and receive immediate help, but more than that—experience hope for a better future.

We wanted to build relationships, reduce barriers, and meet people in moments of crisis with compassion, dignity, and hope.

Operation Rescue isn’t just about meeting immediate needs—it’s about creating pathways to lasting transformation.

Many wait until they are in a complete crisis because they feel ashamed, afraid, or overwhelmed by what their life has become. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation, one meal, or one act of care and compassion to begin changing that story.

As Operation Rescue approaches its one-year anniversary, the impact has been significant.

  • 60 outreach events
  • 4,010 men, women, and children served
  • 9,990 meals served
  • 13,040 resources distributed (including clothing, hygiene items, and essential supplies)
  • 503 bed nights provided

Most importantly, through this outreach alone, 958 men and women have come to Gospel Rescue Mission, and of that group, 721 chose to stay for ongoing care! That means approximately 75% choose to move into long-term support, workforce development, recovery, care, and transformation!

With another dangerously hot summer ahead, we know the need will continue to grow. Extreme weather is not only dangerous, but often deadly for people living on the streets. In many cases, it becomes the catalyst that finally pushes someone to seek help.

Through Operation Rescue, we are able to meet them in that critical moment with safe refuge, compassionate care, and the opportunity for a new beginning.
